On November 9th, the ‘2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards‘ (MAMA) started a UNICEF charity auction on Gmarket, featuring items donated by various Korean artists such as 2PM, Big bang, SG Wannabe, Wonder Girls, Rain and more. All proceeds will go to the children who suffered from the flood in Pakistan.
All items started at 1000 won (approximately $1 USD), and some of the donated items include the purple dresses Wonder Girls wore during their “Nobody” performance on the 2008 MKMF, ‘Big Bang’ branded basketball shoes, Rain’s baseball cap, SG Wannabe’s baseball cap, scarf, books and more.
Within the items, it was 2PM Wooyoung’s item that has caught attention, bidding to 1.1 million won (approximately $1000 USD) in just one day. The item was the clothes Wooyoung wore on the last stage for “Heartbeat.”
The fans shared their thoughts on the event, saying, “I was surprised because the donated items were hard to find” and “The items are so valuable because they are personally signed by the artists.” The fans have also advertised the event via their personal twitters and facebooks.
MAMA expressed, “We want to thank all the singers who have participated in this event. We hope spread this warmth to all parts of Asia.”
On the other hand, MAMA will take place on November 28th at the Venetian Hotel in Macau.
