On April 24, MBC Music’s “Show Champion” reported on the male idol industry’s F4** as chosen by female college students. Big Bang’s TOP, CNBlue’s Jung Yong Hwa, 2PM’s Wooyoung, and SHINee’s Taemin took the title. The F4 were separated into four categories: sexy charisma-dol, soft gentleman-dol, cheerful jolly-dol, and adorable younger-dol.
Ultimate beastly idol Taecyeon (2PM) and singer actor Choi Si Won (Super Junior) put up a good fight for the tile of sexy charisma-dol, but TOP won for his great looks and sexy, husky voice. Shindong (Super Junior) was also in contention for the title of cheerful jolly-dol. Howeving, during an interview, one female college student stated, “Shindong has a girlfriend, so pass,” to which he humorously replied, “Fine, I’ll pass on you too.”
**F4 (flower four) was a term coined in popular series “Boys over Flowers” (Lee Min Ho, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Bum, and Kim Joon starred in the Korean drama version) to describe the four most popular and handsome boys in school.
