[News] 2PM Releases New Album via Clothing Line

A unique method of purchasing music has been unveiled: In collaboration with the global fashion brand, the United Colors of Benetton, the K-pop idol group 2PM recently released their new cutting-edge album, "2PM Clothes Album," which allows fans to access the album's music files through a scan code imprinted on special clothing items.

The clothes album features a bar code that fans can scan using their smartphones, which will take them to a phone application that will grant them access the album's songs along with a 2PM greeting video clip and highlight clips of their Asia tour shows.

The album was made available online on Thursday at the JYP store and Gmarket and completely sold out the clothing line in a day. The album clothing line gives fans choices of different apparel options including hoodies, shirts, pants and leggings ranging in price from 55,000 won to 199,000 won.

JYP Entertainment released a statement saying, "2PM Clothes Album represents a new business model for JYP Entertainment that delivers music through the platform of clothing." The statement went on to say that the company hopes to continue to create diverse content in the future.

The album include six solo songs from each one of the group's members: "Let It Rain" by Nichkhun, "It's Time" by Taecyeon, Junho's "Just a Feelin", Chansung's "Love U Down" and Jun K and Wooyoung's previously released "Alive" and "Sexy Lady", respectively.

2PM is currently on the group's "What time is it?" promotional tour which kicked off in Shanghai on Saturday. The full concert tour schedule has not been announced but the members are currently scheduled to perform in Taipei, Jakarta and Macau next month.
